Hello dear art friends!
Tis the season to party! I hosted a fun bracelet making party for my lovely friend Colleen and her beautiful daughter, Lynden. Kitty Bruno watches them as they make their bracelets.
....
And here are the 2 cuties modeling their new bracelets that they made.
...
Want to know how to make some lovely, fun, easy peasy bracelets for the holidays? All you need are beads, stretch cord (from Michaels), scissors, glue (this G-S Hypo Cement is perfect but mine was glued shut so I had to dig out my E6000 and that worked fine too), and optional ribbon.
Simply slide beads onto stretch cord to the approx. size of your wrist, double tie and really pull on the ends to get tight knots. Then add a dab of glue onto knots. Let dry and snip off ends. Add ribbon to cover knots if desired.
....
Let me show you the bracelets I made. But first, let me give you a little back story. A couple of years ago, I started a new family tradition. Every Christmas, I buy the same pair of earrings for my Mom, my aunt, my sister-in-law and me. That way, whenever we wear them throughout the year, we think of eachother and know how much we are loved. These are the earrings from last year and the year before.
...
Well, this year, I decided to make bracelets for all of us. And I knew that I wanted to be able to wear the bracelet with either pair of earrings. So, I decided to make an ombre fade bracelet of browns and blues to mimic the beauty of the ocean.
...
And here they all are. : ) I'm going to have fun coming up with a creative way to wrap them. Perhaps in Altoid tins in blues and browns?
....
Great news! Our Holiday Ornament Swap is going in the mail to all participants this week. I'm tucking in a Holiday Tag Creativity Kit (shown here) in each package. I made an extra one for my dear blog readers! Leave a comment and win one of these Holiday Tag Creativity Kits.
My kitties will pick a winner next week.
Helga, you never cease with your creativity, or your generosity :) What beautiful things in that kit.. :)

Helga, the bracelet tutorial was wonderful. Maybe I will try this with larger beads (eyesight isn't what is used to be). Love Bruno being so adorable.
Oh, and I so wish I had done the ornament swap, but I would love if one of the kitties would pick me to win the Tag Creativity Kit.

I absolutely LOVE the ombra fade idea. plus, this would be a great way to use up some of my "beginner beads" that I don't want to use for the jewelry I sell anymore - but used this way they would be beautiful!

I am DOUBLY excited now to get my ornament swap returns. That kit is awesome; thank you so much for your generosity. I had lost some of my Christmas "mojo" for awhile (due to burnout! LOL), but this is bringing it all right back!
