Weekly Art Challenge: Help Me Pick the Next Art Swap!
For this week, I'd love to hear your ideas for what our next ARTchix art swap should be.
Here's what our last 3 swaps have been:
- a twinchie (2" square collages) swap with our spoil me chick
- Valentine swap with our
Pink and Red German Scrap
- ATC swap with our Art Flourishes
In addition, we are in the middle of hosting a "True Colors" twinchie swap. And coming up, we have an ATC swap inspired by our playing cards along with a Paris Bookmark swap.
Now, I need to come up with our next swap which will be due in September. Keep in mind, that we need to keep the artwork on the small side and relatively flat so that shipping isn't too expensive.
I would love to hear your ideas!
How to play in this art challenge: Dream up a fabulous art swap! Do you have a favorite ARTchix collage sheet or product? How about coming up with a swap using it? If possible, please make a piece of artwork as an example for your swap idea. Then scan and post it to your blog,
flickr account or website. Next, click on "comment" at the bottom of this post
and leave a note with a link to your art challenge post so I know where to see
it online. In addition, please link back to my blog.
If you don't have a website or blog or anything, feel free to email me your submission with "Blog Art Challenge" as your subject line. (helga@artchixstudio.com)
Or if you have a great swap idea but are not able to make an art sample for it, feel free to just post a comment here and tell me about your swap idea.
Deadline: Tuesday morning, April 14, 2009.
Prize: I will pick my favorite swap idea...and the winner will receive one of my fun Paris -themed goodie bags. I will announce the winner and our next swap on Wed, April 15.

Wishing You a Very Happy Easter!
Pamela McKenzie sent me this cute photo. She received this cute pink chick in one of her orders from us and she decided to display it in this clear box and put it in her studio. The clear box keeps it safe from her adorable kitties. So cute!
Happy Easter Chixies!!!
Your Open the Door buttons made me think that a Door themed swap would be really cool. ARTchix has great images of doors, and there's so many things you can put behind them! Excuse me while I go make some door inspired art!

Hi Helga!
First and foremost, I am very pleased to meet you! Your site and website (from where I have just ordered quite a few picks) are truly inspiring, and after reading your last post I think a good idea could be a Spanish-themed swap. I think it would be lovely to do a swap based in each artist´s conception of Spain. I have seen some models in your ARTchix craft sheets that could perfectly be spaniards, so there goes my idea!
Best,
Beatriz (Madrid, Spain)

Helga, It is Tuesday Morning and I have an entry for you. I have created this ATC which start out as 3.5 X 5 and folds down to 2.5 X 3.5. Alice was featured on the Sticker colage sheet isn't she cute sportiing the Queens crown?
Thanks for the challange,
Gigi

My idea would be Red, white, and Blue and vintage Fairies. I made an american and a french fairy celebrating everything vintage and patriotic!
